Hualin Zhang, Ph.D., DABR, FAAPM

Hualin Zhang, Ph.D., DABR, FAAPM, is a professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Southern California. From 2013 to 2022, he served as chief physicist of brachytherapy in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Zhang received the Outstanding Teacher Award from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in 2018 and was named a Fellow of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) in 2024.

Dr. Zhang's clinical work focuses on implementing advanced radiation therapy technologies, including spatially fractionated radiation therapy for bulky tumors; MRI-guided HDR and LDR brachytherapy; intraoperative radiation therapy (IORT); stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT); and radiobiology modeling for radiation therapy regimens.

Gwonjin (Jin) Lee

Jin is a senior neuroscience major at USC and an undergraduate researcher working with Dr. Zhang. His current projects include developing radiobiology modeling software with multiple models, analyzing SFRT radiobiology modeling, and maintaining the SFRT research hub.
